Eight Sleep has launched Pod 6, the latest version of its temperature-regulating sleep system. The new generation redesigns both the bedside Hub and sensor-equipped Cover, while not touching the core approach of automatically adjusting bed temperature throughout the night.

Eight Sleep has also introduced Solo cover sizes for one sleeper, bringing the starting price of the system down to $1,999. Standard versions start at $2,699. The Autopilot subscription is still required and starts at $199 per year.

More power in a smaller Hub

The redesigned Hub is around 50% smaller by volume, now fitting underneath most standard bed frames. Eight Sleep also improved the thermal system, increasing heating and cooling power and making temperature adjustments around 20% faster than Pod 5.

Another practical change is the addition of the Solo Cover. A single Cover can now fit a Twin mattress or one side of a Queen or King, lowering the cost for people who do not need a full two-person setup. Two Solo Covers can later be combined around the same system.

There is growing evidence behind the temperature-control approach. In an Eight Sleep-funded study of 90 adults, active overnight temperature regulation lowered sleeping heart rate by 3%, increased HRV by 11%, and reduced core body temperature by around 0.16°C. Participants with poorer sleep at baseline also saw improvements in sleep composition.

Eighteen sensors push further into health tracking

Pod 6 increases the system from two biometric sensors to 18, with nine sensors covering each side of the bed. The system continues to track familiar signals including heart rate, HRV, breathing rate, snoring and sleep stages. The extra sensors mainly increase spatial coverage, helping separate one sleeper’s signals from a partner, child or pet.

Those measurements feed Autopilot, which adjusts temperature based on sleep stage, environmental conditions, and daily activity. Eight Sleep says the denser array brings heart rate, HRV, and breathing measurements closer to medical-grade references.

The hardware also supports a broader health push. Eight Sleep is pursuing US FDA clearance for sleep-apnea detection and mitigation, building on recent additions such as Biological Age and expanded cardiovascular and respiratory monitoring.
