This policy explains what personal data Senseable collects when you visit our website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it.
We have deliberately written it in plain language. Senseable exists to explain how health devices actually work rather than hide behind jargon, so it would be strange to bury our own data practices in legal fog. Where the law requires a specific term, we use it and then explain what it means.
We operate the site together, so you can direct any request to either of us.
a) Data you provide
b) Data collected automatically
We do not ask readers for health information, and we do not collect it.
We do not sell your personal data.
We may use cookies for:
Non-essential cookies are loaded only after you accept them. You can change your choice at any time through your browser settings. If you decline them, the site remains fully readable.
Many product links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. The affiliate network or retailer uses its own tracking to attribute the sale and acts as a separate controller under its own privacy policy. We do not see your identity, payment details, or what else you purchased, but only anonymised click and commission data.
Some articles are paid for by a brand. When this is the case, we label the article at the top. Sponsorship buys placement, but it never influences our review of a wearable. No personal data about you is shared with the sponsor, beyond general, anonymised information about our audience.
We share data with service providers who process it on our instructions, under a data processing agreement:
Affiliate networks and social platforms are not our processors. They independently decide what data they collect under their own privacy policies. Otherwise, we disclose personal data only where legally required.
Some of our providers process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on an adequacy decision from the European Commission or Standard Contractual Clauses: approved contractual terms that require the provider to protect your data to European standards.
Under GDPR you can:
Email hello@senseable.xyz, and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl, or to the relevant authority in your own country.
We apply reasonable security measures, including HTTPS, two-factor authentication on our accounts, and limiting access to the two of us. However, no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If a breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we will report it to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens within 72 hours and notify you where the risk to you is high.
We link to retailers, manufacturers, and our social media accounts. What happens on those sites is governed by their own privacy policies, not ours.
We update this policy when our practices change, and the date at the top always reflects the latest revision. If a change materially affects your rights, we will explain it on the site and ask for fresh consent where required by law.
