Wahoo Fitness is an American company for cycling, running and indoor training. It makes bike computers, smart trainers, heart rate monitors, pedals and speed and cadence sensors.
How it works
Motion sensors count wheel or crank rotations to calculate speed and cadence. Chest straps detect the heart’s electrical signal, while arm bands use light to measure pulse at the skin. Smart trainers measure cycling power and change resistance automatically. Wireless connections send data to Wahoo devices, watches and training apps.
Key considerations
Sensors measure specific metrics, so a complete setup may require several devices. Wheel size, installation, calibration, battery level and wireless interference affect results. Optical pulse can lag during rapid intensity changes, while chest straps need close contact. Training platforms may require separate subscriptions. Wahoo products support exercise and do not diagnose cardiovascular or respiratory conditions.
