WHAT THEY MAKE

Tempo is an American fitness company that makes home strength training systems with a coaching app. Its Studio combines a large screen, weights and a depth sensing camera, while newer setups use phones.

How it works

The camera sends invisible light into the room and measures return time. This creates a three dimensional map of people and weights. Software identifies joints, counts repetitions and estimates range of motion, pace and exercise form. Training plans use completed workouts, equipment and progress to recommend training.

Key considerations

Tracking depends on clear camera placement, space and a clear view. Loose clothing, unusual angles and floor exercises can reduce accuracy. Automated form feedback recognises selected patterns and cannot detect every unsafe movement or injury risk. Most coaching features require a membership, and the equipment takes dedicated space. Tempo supports fitness and does not provide rehabilitation or medical assessment.
