How it works
Electroencephalography electrodes across the forehead and behind the ears detect electrical signals from brain activity. The app translates changes into sound feedback during meditation, reflecting changes in activity. Selected models also use optical pulse, movement and blood flow sensors to add heart, breathing, sleep measures.

Key considerations
Muse cannot read thoughts or prove that a particular mental state has been achieved. Fit, facial movement, hair and skin contact can affect the signal. Features differ by headband and may require a subscription.
