WHAT THEY MAKE

Incora Health is a startup in Greenville, South Carolina making health tracking earrings. The sensor lives in the post that passes through the earlobe, wrapped in gold over titanium, and the earrings are reversible so they pass as ordinary jewellery.

How it works

The earlobe is thin and well supplied with blood, which makes it a steady place to read body temperature. Temperature settles slightly higher after ovulation, so a nightly reading across weeks maps the phases of a cycle. The earrings also follow heart rate, sleep and daily activity, and the app reads all of it against where the wearer sits in the month.

Key considerations

The product has not shipped. It remains a waitlist, so none of the accuracy claims have been tested outside the company.
