Aktiia is a Swiss medical technology company whose blood pressure system is now sold under the Hilo name. The system combines a slim bracelet worn on the wrist with a standard inflatable cuff worn around the upper arm for calibration and reference readings.

How it works

The bracelet shines green light into the skin and measures how the reflected light changes as blood pulses through the wrist. Software compares this pulse pattern with the cuff reading and uses it to estimate blood pressure throughout the day and night. The Hilo app presents daily averages, longer term trends and reports that can be shared with a clinician.

Key considerations

The bracelet still relies on the arm cuff for setup and regular calibration, so it does not remove cuff measurements completely. Availability, regulatory clearance and measurement frequency also differ between countries and product versions.
