WHAT THEY MAKE

Xiaomi is a Chinese company that sells Xiaomi and Redmi smart bands and watches. Its wearables track activity, workouts, sleep and health signals while connecting to the Mi Fitness app and Xiaomi devices.

How it works

Optical lights measure wrist blood flow to estimate heart rate and blood oxygen. Motion sensors record steps, exercise and sleep, while satellites map routes. Selected watches add electrical contacts for added measurements. Software turns the signals into sleep stages, stress estimates, training and recovery guidance.

Key considerations

Features vary widely by model and region. Continuous monitoring often needs manual activation and reduces battery life. Loose fit, movement, tattoos and cold skin can affect optical readings. Body composition and sleep stages are calculated estimates, while cycle tracking depends on entered dates. Xiaomi wearables provide wellness information and do not diagnose cardiovascular, respiratory, metabolic or sleep conditions.
