Polsen is a Dutch health technology company behind NOWATCH, a screenless wrist wearable for stress, sleep and recovery. The device replaces a display with interchangeable metal or stone discs, while results appear in the Polsen Health app.
How it works
Small electrodes measure changes in how easily the skin conducts electricity, which often rise when sweat glands respond to stress. Optical lights track pulse and blood oxygen changes, while temperature and motion sensors add context. Software combines these signals into stress patterns, sleep estimates, activity and guided breathing sessions.
Key considerations
Skin conductance reflects physical arousal and cannot determine the emotion or event that caused it. Heat, movement, fit and sweating patterns can change readings. NOWATCH offers fewer live controls than a smartwatch because it has no screen.
