WHAT THEY MAKE

Moonbird is a Belgian company that makes a handheld breathing coach. The small device expands and contracts in the user’s palm, providing a screen free rhythm. Its guided exercises support relaxation and sleep.

How it works
A motor slowly changes the device’s shape. The user inhales as it expands and exhales as it contracts, so touch paces breathing. Slower breathing can influence heart rate variability and support the body’s resting response. The companion app offers different exercises and, in some versions, uses pulse feedback to show response.

Key considerations
Moonbird guides a breathing practice and does not directly stimulate the nervous system or measure clinical conditions. Effects vary and depend on following the rhythm. Some people may feel lightheaded during slow breathing and should pause. The device can support stress management but does not replace care for anxiety, insomnia or breathing disorders.
