WHAT THEY MAKE

Luffu is an American company started by the two founders of Fitbit, aimed at families coordinating care for each other. Luffu Link is its first piece of hardware, a screenless band worn on the wrist with one button and its own mobile connection.

How it works

An optical sensor at the wrist reads the pulse through the skin, giving resting heart rate and its variability, while motion sensors follow steps and sleep. Holding the button records a spoken note about a medication, a meal or a mood. A double press sends a location check in to chosen contacts, and a long hold raises an alert with live location over the built in connection.

Key considerations

The band ships in 2027, and the family plan carries a monthly fee covering up to four people.
