Kohler Health is Kohler’s health technology division. Its Dekoda device attaches to a toilet and analyses waste during bathroom visits. The system tracks hydration and digestive patterns and to alert users to possible signs of blood.

How it works
Downward facing optical sensors use light and spectroscopy to examine urine and stool in the bowl without filming the user. A fingerprint reader identifies the person before a visit, keeping household records separate. Software sends encrypted results to the Kohler Health app and builds a baseline for hydration, stool form, frequency and changes over time.

Key considerations
Dekoda requires a compatible toilet, charging, an app and a paid membership. Dark bowl colours and unusual conditions may affect sensing. It is a wellness tracker and is not FDA approved for diagnosis, and a blood alert or persistent digestive change needs medical assessment.
