WHAT THEY MAKE

Huawei is a Chinese technology company with smartwatches, fitness bands and connected health devices. Its wearables cover activity, sport, sleep and cardiovascular measurements, while the Huawei Health app shows results. Sensors and regulated features differ widely across models and countries.

How it works
Optical sensors use light to estimate pulse and blood oxygen from changes in wrist blood flow. Motion sensors track steps, workouts and sleep, while satellite receivers map outdoor activity. Selected watches add electrical contacts for electrocardiograms, temperature sensing or an inflatable cuff for blood pressure. Software turns these signals into trends, alerts and training summaries.

Key considerations
Medical functions are limited to approved devices, regions and eligible users, and they do not replace clinical testing. Wrist fit, movement and skin contact affect accuracy. Phone compatibility and app access can also vary, particularly because Huawei services differ across operating systems and markets.
