How it works

The skin conducts electricity slightly better when a person sweats, and sweating tracks the state of the nervous system. Two contacts read that change continuously, so brief arousals show up even when they never reach waking. When one appears, the device answers with a weak electrical pulse aimed at nerves behind the ear. The app reports how many disruptions were caught and how the night held together.
