WHAT THEY MAKE

Motorola is a technology company whose Moto Watch uses fitness and recovery software from the Powered by Polar programme. The smartwatch combines notifications, activity, sleep and sport features. Polar contributes algorithms, while Motorola provides hardware and design.

How it works
An optical sensor uses light to estimate pulse at the wrist. Motion sensors track steps, movement and sleep, while dual frequency satellite positioning records distance and routes outdoors. Polar software turns these signals into measures such as Nightly Recharge, Activity Score, calories, training summaries and recovery insights.

Key considerations
Powered by Polar licenses analysis without making the Moto Watch identical to a Polar watch. Features, sensors and app support may differ. Wrist fit, movement, tattoos and cold skin can affect optical readings.
