Mira is a women’s health company that makes an at home hormone monitoring system. Disposable urine wands provide numerical app results. Different wands support fertility tracking, ovulation confirmation and broader cycle monitoring.
How it works
Fluorescent markers on the test wand react with hormones or urine metabolites. The Mira reader measures the emitted light to quantify luteinising hormone, an oestrogen metabolite, a progesterone metabolite and follicle stimulating hormone, depending on type. Software follows daily changes to estimate the fertile window and use a later progesterone rise to support ovulation confirmation.
Key considerations
Mira requires recurring wands, correct urine sampling and repeated testing. Hydration, medication, pregnancy and hormonal conditions can affect results. The system reveals patterns but cannot guarantee ovulation, conception or a healthy pregnancy. It is not contraception, and unusual readings or difficulty conceiving should be discussed with a qualified clinician.
