Dexcom is an American diabetes technology company known for continuous glucose monitors. Stelo is its sensor for adults who do not use insulin, including people with type 2 diabetes or prediabetes. A small disposable patch is worn on the back of the upper arm.

How it works
A thin filament sits just beneath the skin and reacts with glucose in the fluid between cells. This reaction creates an electrical signal that changes with glucose concentration. The sensor sends readings to the Stelo app, which shows current levels, daily patterns, meal related rises and longer term summaries without routine finger sticks.

Key considerations
Each sensor lasts for up to fifteen days and must then be replaced, creating an ongoing cost. Stelo is not designed for people using insulin and does not provide urgent low glucose alarms. Symptoms and readings that do not match require separate confirmation.
