Airofit is a Danish company in Copenhagen that makes breathing trainers. The product is a mouthpiece held to the mouth for a few minutes a day, sold to endurance athletes and to people who want calmer breathing at rest.

How it works

The mouthpiece narrows the path air travels, so the muscles that pull air in and push it out have to work against resistance the way a muscle works against a weight. A pressure sensor inside reads how hard and how fast air moves through it. From that the app measures lung volume and the strength of breathing in and breathing out, guides each exercise live, and follows the numbers over weeks.
